Gamers diving into the latest James Bond adventure, 007 First Light, are finding themselves pulled out of the spy fantasy more often than they'd like. The culprit is not a villain's trap, but a persistent and irritating disconnect error that plagues the experience. Players report being abruptly kicked from missions, often at the worst possible moments, forcing them to stare at a "Connection Lost" screen and hit the "Retry" button repeatedly.
The problem seems to stem from the game's always-online requirement, even for its single-player campaign. While the developer likely intended this for leaderboards and seamless progression, the reality is a broken connection that halts gameplay entirely. Instead of sneaking through a casino or escaping a collapsing facility, players are stuck in a loading loop, waiting to see if the server will let them back in. This kills any sense of immersion or tension the story tries to build.
For a game that prides itself on fast-paced stealth and stylish takedowns, these technical hiccups are a major buzzkill. It is one thing to die because you missed a shot or triggered an alarm. It is another to be punished by a server timeout that has nothing to do with your skill. Until a patch fixes the stability, the most dangerous enemy in 007 First Light might just be the game's own network code.
